Knightmare was the name I gave to my first experimental prototypes in chess programming. Knightmare was succeeded by Zilch -- my first stable chess engine -- and now Vapor. Knightmare ran on Windows and had minimal support for the WinBoard protocol. It was horribly unstable and played awful chess. For some reason I chose to release a version called Knightmare BP. I have since removed the download from my site, as it was more of an embarrassment than anything. This page is here only as a historical note.
